Nurturing Hope
Smart Agriculture, Community Safety, and Direct Relief at Keffi IDP Seeds of Progress: A Week of Fieldwork, Growth, and Hope at Keffi IDP City True community transformation happens when sustainable livelihoods, personal safety, and direct care come together. This week, the Endam Home of Hope team carried out a comprehensive monitoring and evaluation exercise at the Keffi Refugee and IDP City, assessing progress on our Smart Agriculture Project, holding community advocacy on Gender-Based Violence (GBV), and delivering direct household relief. 1. Smart Agriculture: Green Shoots of Self-Reliance Food security is the foundation of dignity. Under our Smart Agriculture initiative, participating households in the Keffi settlement have been working on their initial crop cycle, cultivating groundnut, soybean, and corn. During our field monitoring this week, we were thrilled to see that the crops are thriving across all plots! 2. Safeguarding & Community Outreach: GBV Advocacy Building resilient communities requires addressing physical security alongside food production. During our visit, our team held interactive advocacy sessions focused on Gender-Based Violence (GBV) prevention and protection pathways. These sessions provided a safe space for community members to discuss safety, identify local support mechanisms, and strengthen community protection networks within the settlement. 3. Immediate Relief & Nutritious Support While building long-term agricultural sustainability, addressing immediate daily needs remains essential. During the visit, our team provided direct support to the community: Gratitude to Our Funding Partner This project and its ongoing impact at Keffi Refugee and IDP City are made possible through the generous funding and partnership of NKA BORNGREAT INTERNATIONAL LTD., led by Managing Director Dr. Yvonne Endam Nukuna. We extend our sincere appreciation to Dr. Nukuna and the NKA Borngreat team for their commitment to empowering displaced families and restoring hope. Stay tuned for updates next month as we celebrate the first harvest at Keffi IDP City!
